On Thursday 5/14/15 we were diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  It is Invasive ductal carcinoma level 2 of 3.  It is also classified as  ER/PR + her2-, which is apparently a "good" thing.  We do know that it is a small tumor measuring 1.7cm and is only in the left breast at this time.  The word invasive means it has moved outside of the duct, but not necessarily anywhere else.  On Monday 5/18/15 Keith and I have a appointment at the Virgina Piper Institute at Abbott Northwestern with a surgeon.  We will also do further testing that day including ultrasounds and MRI's.  We are confident the team of Doctors and Nurses at Virginia Piper are going to do everything they possibly can to help us.  We were told we caught it early due to the size.  I felt a lump on 5/3 and had it checked out on 5/5, everything is moving quite smoothly so far.  Since day 1 I have had this overwhelming sense of wanting this out of my body and that is exactly what WE intend to do.  We have decided as a family to include all of you in our fight early because we strongly believe in your support and the power of prayers!  So keep them coming :-).  The girls are doing well and our family just became stronger than it ever has been.  I have always believed in living life to the fullest and will absolutely continue to do that.  Thanks for all the support and prayers so far, it is all appreciated and nothing goes unnoticed!  Do your self breast exams ladies!
