Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Cheryl had open heart surgery in January, 2017 to repair an aortic aneurysm. The procedure went well, but scans late this summer show a second aneurysm growing large enough to require surgery, and additional repairs needed for the original repair from January. A valve may need to be replaced as well. We travel to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN on 12/7 for surgical prep, with a second open heart surgery, called a "frozen elephant truck" procedure planned for 12/12/17. We will be updating this site as much as possible during her hospital stay and recovery.
