On Sunday afternoon, December 4th, after hosting an open house for their neighbors, Char and Ron took a walk in their neighborhood. They were crossing a street and were struck by a car in the crosswalk. Ron has injuries to his leg and ankle, and is up and about on crutches. He has been discharged from the hospital. Char is at Harborview Intensive Care, and is currently still listed in critical condition. He has a small fracture to her skull, and though the swelling of her brain is reducing...or at least not increasing , this is kind of a waiting game...she is somehwat responsive to commands... And showing some really positive signs, but this is a serious event from any angle. Hayes and Mindy were on site last night, as were my (Elizabeth's) partner Kemp, and friend Rebecca Ricards. They have all been making sure she isn't alone. I am in Wisconsin currently--there will be many updates to come. Hoping that Ron and Hayes and Kemp will be able to update to this page, and anyone who loves her can find the latest right here.
