Carol had an occipital lobe stroke.  This kind of stroke generally affects vision, sometimes speech.  In Carol's case her vision is somewhat blurred and she has temporarily lost her peripheral vision on both sides. She was admitted to Baptist on 12/1 sat ;there have been complications that week.  Carols blood work after the stroke included some liver function test irregularities... other tests were done.  By midweek,  it was discovered Carol has stage 4 pancreatic cancer that has spread to her liver. Carol also developed a pulmonary embolism. She remained Baptist with Jan's constant support.  Carol has two children, Nick and Katherine living in WI. Nick came in thursday andKatherine will be here Friday. She was released.
Carol received her first chemo treatment Thursday.  She did great, Luckily Dr.  Tammy Tandberg was in town and helped her with some of the side effects.
Yesterday, carol had another stroke , we rushed to the ER.  again, miss Mary and Dr tammy helped out.
She is better this afternoon. Carol is asking that you do not call. She will reach out as she is up to it.
I promise to update the site daily.
We currently are in CCU at palmetto richland.
I'm sure you have many questions but honestly there are not many answers right now.
Please keep Carol and her family in your prayers .
