Caden G Caring for Caden

First post: Nov 10, 2018 Latest post: Feb 13, 2019

Caden is our sweet, brave, and happy boy with a difficult path in life. He was born with a rare genetic disorder called rhizomelic chondrodyplasia punctata type 1 (shortened to RCDP) and now he is facing a rare cancer diagnosis of t-cell lympoblastic lymphoma. He is a trooper though and he is fighting off this nastiness. It will be a long battle but we are hopeful he will get through it.  We will update this page with progress reports. Most of the information will come from Betsy, Caden's mom. His dad, Steve, will chime in as well.

We appreciate all the love and healing thoughts from our family and friends. We will need lots of help and appreciate the many offers that have poured in. Please follow this page on the "Ways to Help" section as we determine our needs.  We do have a call to action that almost everyone can do at  your convenience. We ask that you donate some type of blood product locally. Platelets and red blood cells specifically help cancer patients like Caden and just take a little more time (about 2 hours total) than a whole blood donation (about 1 hour total). Of course, a whole blood donation is fantastic too. Please share that you've donated via social media using #GiveRed4Caden and see if you can inspire others to donate as well.
