As many know, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer on June 4th of this year.  

I had a small noticeable lump on my left breast in February and knew I was having a physical in April so I just waited to discuss with my primary doctor.  In March the lump became larger and painful.  Since I have been diagnosed all appts, etc have been STAT so all appointments, exams, etc were all gathered within 3 weeks! I have had several biopsies, tests, etc.  The mass is now 8.8cm per my last MRI.  There were no other signs of any other concerns.  Including none from the right breast as it had a previous benign biopsy in the past.

I will have two surgeries.  One being a double mastectomy on Tuesday, July 27th around 1pm.  Then extensive testing will be done and we should know the next steps, if any are needed, that following week.  The reconstruction - via diep flap, will come later on.  That time is TBD. I have wonderful doctors that we feel very comfortable with and have great support from a local charity here in Austin called Breast Cancer Resource Center - BCRC.  We are of course thankful for all of the support from family, friends, neighbors, church etc.
