Dad had been dealing with a lingering cough and what he thought was a cold for several months. He went into see the doctor several times and was treated with different antibiotics and given steroids shots. After time and numerous visits to the doctor, his cough only seemed to progressively get worse. On Friday April 30th, Dad returned to the doctor and requested to have a chest x-ray. The chest x-ray revealed swollen lymph nodes in his chest and from there a CT scan of his chest was ordered, along with several blood tests. On Tuesday, May 3rd, five to six needle biopsies of Dad's chest and lymph nodes in his neck were taken. Wednesday, May 4th, 2016, Dad was diagnosed with Stage 4, non-small cell lung cancer, affecting both lungs, along with the lymph nodes in his neck.
