Welcome to my CaringBridge page. The reason this page has been started is so I can keep you up to date on my recent cancer diagnosis. I have what is known as Merkel Cell Carcinoma (MCC) It’s a rare, nasty form of skin cancer. In the coming weeks I will meet with my team of doctors to determine what path I will take to hopefully beat this situation. There are less than 1500 people annually in the US who get this kind of cancer. Research and Research doctors are few and far in-between. I am hopeful that my doctors in Palm Springs will consult with the Seattle based research team, as it is there where much of the care and research for MCC takes place in the Western US. Obviously, as most of you know Palm Sorings and Seattle are “home” for me so this has the potential of working well for me. Thank you for your hope and encouragement.
