If you haven't heard our story, Brett hadn't been feeling well and went to the doctor (on his birthday 3/27) thinking he had pneumonia. After receiving a chest X-ray, the doctors discovered masses in his lungs. After further tests, his diagnosis is esophageal cancer which has metastasized to his lungs, liver, and bones. Brett started chemotherapy treatments on 4/28 and is now taking a medical leave from his work at the University of Denver.
