Brandon Voigt

Brandon is in need of a kidney.  He has had kidney/bladder problems since a very young age and has been through multiple surgeries. He is currently 28 years old. His doctors wanted to get as much out of his kidneys as they could.. After having Covid, Brandon’s creatinine levels began to rise, which made it very concerning for his doctors. They believe it’s due to long haulers Covid and that’s why after 20 years, he’s no longer at a stable creatinine and now is the time that he needs a transplant. As of yesterday, Wednesday July 21, we got the call from his care coordinator saying that the transplant committee approved him and that she would be in contact soon after she heard back from insurance. Within 20 minutes, we got that call that he is officially ACTIVE on the donor list. With having 8 1/2 years wait time under his belt and being so young, they expect this to move very quickly. We are currently anxiously awaiting a phone call that could literally happen at any moment. I thought this Caring Bridge page would be the easiest way to communicate with everyone about what’s going on and how he is doing!
