In early December 2018, I found a small lump in my left breast when doing my monthly exam. To me it felt like the size of a pea and was right under the skin. This isn't the first time I have found a lump, but it is always concerning until it is ruled out as nothing. I have been getting mammograms, ultrasounds and even a needle aspiration almost annually since I was 35 because of my lumpy bumpy boobs and spots that have shown up as concerning but always ruled out as that ultimately. Not this time however.
The day after Christmas it was confirmed that I have breast cancer.
