Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Not knowing exactly how to begin this story I guess I'll just start.  Prior to our trip home from Arizona in May Bob discovered a lump in his L groin. Concerned that his lymphoma may have recurred he saw his oncologist.  After a week of testing Dr. Leon confirmed that the disease had indeed returned.  The course of treatment prescribed was chemo therapy with the possibility of a stem cell transplant.

May, June and July took us through 3 rounds of chemo, hair loss and fatigue.  Dr. Leon decided to proceed with the stem cell transplant and Bob's cells were harvested and stored.  Follow up scans showed the cancer had greatly decreased but there was 2 remaining area in both groins.  After referral to Radiation Oncology Bob began a 25 session of daily radiation.   The radiation ended on Sept 11th and the stem cell transplant was scheduled to begin on September 27th.  Due to some skin breakdown from the radiation and the need for healing time the transplant has been postponed until November 8th.

Some of you have already been part of this journey and others are just hearing about it for the first time.  As the time for the transplant draws near we wanted all of you to know what's happening.  We'd appreciate your prayers and good wishes.  To our Arizona friends we wish we could be driving back with you to Sun City next month.  Right now we're hoping for January Ist.

For the next few weeks we plan to spend some sunny days at the cottage in Phillips.  We're doing fine.  Bob's attitude is very positive and hopeful.  We're living life one day at a time and planning to do it for quite sometime into the future.  We'll keep you posted as the transplant draws near.  Jeanne
