Bill is a retired teacher, healthy 73 year old man, married 42 years, father of 3, granddad of 2, with 7 siblings, 10 nieces & nephews, cared for his 92 year old mother and has countless friends. A strong, active part of his community, volunteers with Village Laguna, cooks for and feeds the homeless, is an avid reader and enjoys travel. Lots of love, family and friends around him.
On March 15, 2016, Bill scheduled a quadruple bypass open heart surgery and ablation, due to the detection of clogged arteries. He has one of the best cardiologists and surgeons in the country. According to doctors the heart surgery was a success. Bill was released from the hospital 6 days later on March 21st.
After 5 days home, Bill experienced a slight fever. And returned to the hospital for about 5 days to be treated for Bronchitis and/or Pneumonia. Bill was released to go home to family to recover.
After 1-2 days home with an Oxygen tank, Bill had another fever and retuned to the hospital. This time his shortness of breathe and lack of oxygen continued to worsen.
Doctors admitted Bill on April 4, 2016 into ICU and Life Support including Venilator Machine and feeding tubes. Bill's lungs were bleeding and inflamed. The doctors are pursuing aggressive treatment is to allow his lungs to heal. Bill is currently on Advanced Life Support in ICU.
