Bob Wilson

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We (Melissa and Scott, spawn of Bob) are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. 

A few months ago, Bob started showing some signs of dementia. He was aware of it and just a few weeks ago was able to voice his concern to a doctor in Texas, where he had been living: "I'm not sure I could go out and give a biology or anatomy lecture like I used to."  The signs quickly grew more worrisome and while visiting Melissa in California he fell. A CT at the ER revealed a mass in his right frontal lobe and he was transferred to UCSF. In the span of just this past week he was discovered to have a large glioblastoma (malignant brain tumor), the majority of which was surgically resected on 10/11. He has a lot of rehab ahead of him and will be staying in California for now. 

We know that Biology Bob/Mr. Wilson/Papa Wilson has a lot of people rooting for him. We can't thank you enough for all of your encouragement and check-ins. We will post updates here and no longer on Facebook.
