Bill Griffith BILL GRIFFITH'S HEALTH

First post: 8/16/2016 Latest post: 9/6/2016
My health deteriorated now over three years ago after being diagnosed with a Lung Disease and a Pulmonary Disease.   In the months that followed  I was diagnosed with an Immune Deficiency Disease.  Within a matter of time, I was diagnosed with a Neuromuscular Disease as well. In a effort to treat the Neuromuscular Disease I began a Prednisone regimen. That proved to be disastrous. After about three months I discovered I had gained 36 pounds of fluid, suffered a heart attack, acute kidney failure and ARDS. I was knocking on heaven's door. Blessed as I am, with the Lord's touch and great doctors I survived. I soon discovered the Prednisone regimen contributed heavily to diabetic retinopathy. This regimen also would lead to facing once again End Stage Renal Failure. This was also the beginning of my going legally blind. I am still trying to adjust my daily activities to accommodate my blindness. I haven't driven a car in about two years. eSIGHT glasses offered me the only chance of recapturing any of my lost vision. The cost for these glasses was $15,000.00. I realize that is a lot of money. These glasses are not covered by insurance. That is the reason I asked for assistance in an effort to be able to purchase these eSIGHT glasses.   In five days I reached my goal. I purchased my eSIGHT glasses and my vision has drastically been improved when I wear them.  I was also able to purchase my own oxygen concentrator for my 24/7 oxygen demand.   At the same time my vision was impacted little did I know my kidneys were being impacted as well.  My GFR indicated I had  digressed into Stage 3 Renal Failure.  I have continued to digress and am near the End Stage Renal Failure. My GFR has been 17 for several months. Medical experts recommend dialysis begins at a GFR of 15. It appears dialysis is is in my imminent future and I will face dialysis in order to survive.   To prepare for dialysis it requires many steps of which I have already begun that new journey in my life.
