KIDNEY FAILURE JOURNEY:

I am asking you to pray for me. I have currently been diagnosed in end stage kidney failure and very near having to start dialysis. With a 14% kidney function I have already had a port installed to prepare myself for dialysis. I could really use your prayers. I am hoping to be able to get a kidney transplant to survive without daily dialysis.  I must start dialysis , however, when my kidney function reaches 10%. 

I have been referred to the UT Erlanger Kidney Transplant Center in Chattanooga, TN. I am awaiting orientation and testing to be accepted as a potential kidney transplant recipient. 

This can be a lengthy, costly process.  Being placed on a waiting list for a viable kidney can take up to five years on average. My best option is to be able to secure a living donor who is a match for the kidney I need.

My life verse is Jeremiah 29:11.  I know God has a plan for my life. That plan is not to harm me but to allow me to prosper and have hope and a future.
 
In addition to end stage kidney failure, I have also been diagnosed with an Interstitial lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis, compromised immune system, neuromuscular disease, diabetic retinopathy and peripheral neuropathy. A major concern is that I can physically handle being intubated, placed on life support and use general anesthesia and survive kidney transplant surgery with my lung and pulmonary problems. 

I am asking for you to pray for these four things for me.

1 - Clear medical tests of my pulmonary system,
2 - Be accepted in the UT Erlanger Transplant Ctr
3 - Find a compatible, living donor,
4 - Avoid dialysis until the transplant takes place. 

I have had the most awesome privilege to serve this community as the Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church, Cleveland, TN. During this time I served as Chaplain with the Bradley County Sheriff's Office, Cleveland Police Department, Cleveland Fire Department, Bradley County Fire- Rescue, Bradley County EMS, Bradley County EMA and the 911 Center. I also served as Chief Deputy, Bradley County Sheriff's Office. It was a privilege to serve alongside the finest first responders in our nation.
