In the beginning of 2016, my husband (Bill) was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma Lung Cancer / SVC Syndrome.  He was told it would be a tough battle and he immediately began very aggressive treatment consisting of both chemo and radiation.  Bill successfully completed the treatment in June 2016 and the cancer was in remission.  For the most part, the cancer has continued to remain at bay.   However, since the Fall of 2016. Bill has been plagued with many issues that are side effects of the treatment he received such an esophageal tear from dilitations which resulted in sepsis, continuous fluid build up in lung, swelling caused by SVC Syndrome, pneumonia, shingles, etc.

Currently, Bill is in the hospital as a result of a serious infection (MRSA) in his bloodstream.  He has been in the hospital for 2 weeks battling this infection.  We have an appointment at MD Anderson in a little over a week for them to evaluate Bill's situation , and we remain hopeful Bill will be healthy enough to make this trip.  🙏🙏🙏
