Mom was diagnosed with endometrial uterine cancer December 2014 and had a total hysterectomy February 2, 2015.  At that time, doctors were confident they had gotten it all.  This year, a year later, mom had a nagging cough and went to the Urgent Care for an xray.  That showed a "spot" on the lung and she was referred to have a CT scan done.  The CT scan showed nodules on the lungs and a biopsy was ordered.  9 out of 14 kids were present when the biopsy results were read.  Metastatic Uterine Cancer, Stage 4.   We are beyond thankful that she went in and got her cough checked out, or we would be none the wiser until she was really sick.  She is positive, ready to fight and she has a huge network of support. There a couple of mantras that we've started as a family to help cope.  #bigfamilyblessings (Big Family Blessings)  and #thistooshallpass (this too shall pass) which was often said by our grandma Lillian, my mom's mother (http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/bethbowen#).  We as a family, ask that you keep my mom inthoughts (http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/bethbowen#) and prayers as she starts her treatment and we all start (http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/bethbowen#) our journey as a family living with cancer.
