My cancer journey started in November 2014. I had a hysterectomy and pathology showed I had Leiomyosarcoma, a rare cancer that only 1% get. There are 80 different kinds of soft tissue sarcomas.

For the next three years I was monitored with scans every 3 months, then 6 months. My last scan showed a tumor in my abdomen which I had surgically removed in November 2017. I went to Mayo in January 2018 to see a Sarcoma specialist and started Gem/Tax chemo between February 2-May 25 where I was treated at Roger Maris in Fargo. I had a scan June 25 and Sept 20 and both were NED (no evidence of disease).

My December 20th scan showed 2 more tumors. Another visit to Mayo January 2, 2019 to meet with Sarcoma oncologist and surgeon. Updates will be provided in the journal as we learn more.
