I am excited to be going home today after a two week stay at Mayo Clinic - Methodist Hospital.    I was sent to Mayo by the Owatonna Hospital after receiving care for what I thought was a long (4 week) drawn out bout of the flu.  It was an unexpected surprise to find out I had some form of cancer.  Mayo had difficulty diagnosing the cancer as it did not act like one specific cancer.  After a week and a half, they determined it is an "unclassified" B Cell Lymphoma. They have delivered IV treatments of non-chemo drugs. The physicians were amazed at the response  to the first course of treatment and have indicated they are pleased with my progress.  I will be going back home to Owatonna and will continue to work on regaining my strength. I will return to To Mayo for a few more IV treatments over the next few weeks. I will then continue maintenance treatment through Owatonna-Mayo. 


 I am so grateful for the help of my children who stayed by my side throughout the journey and even remodeled my home to make it possible for me to safely and conveniently maneuver around my home.  My friends and co-workers have been so kind to reach out to me. Your support and well wishes brightened my days and encouraged me.  


The staff at theMayo Clinic - physicians, nurses and other care givers were phenomenal in every way. They were so kind, patient and persistent to find the right diagnosis and treatment.  My case is unique and the treatment is relatively new so, many long hours went into understanding my illness and treatment.   I am grateful to all who cared so compassionately for me.  I am excited about my continued recovery.
