I was diagnosed with esophageal cancer, stage III on June 8th.  I had my 1st oncology visit on June 11th at St. Mary's in Duluth. I am very comfortable with my oncologist and his treatment plan. I will be receiving radiation 5 times a week for 5 weeks, and chemotherapy 1 time a week for an undetermined amount of time. Both of these will be done concurrently in Hibbing. I had a feeding tube placed in my stomach on the 25th of June. This needed to be done before treatment in case of swelling and difficulty swallowing due to the radiation.  I am starting treatment on July 13th and am ready to get started. My oncologist and I are both optimistic about the outcome. I am thankful for all of the ongoing support, love and prayers from family, friends and loved ones on my journey.
