Our precious baby boy Maverick Walker Michael was born just as adorable and precious as can be on February 16, weighing in at 7lbs and 3oz. The c section delivery went great, but we were surprised to find that our sweet little mister was born with a somewhat complicated birth defect called Bladder Exstrophy. Basically his bladder was formed on the outside of his abdomen, and will require a series of surgerys to repair. Within hours of birth he was transferred to Children’s Mercy Hospital where a team of urologists and surgeons are waiting to evaluate him and come up with a plan. While this turn of events was not what we were expecting, we put our faith in Jesus and are eager to see how the Lord works through this situation to show His never ending love for us and our precious boy.
