Baby Kimmes (or Princess Kimmes as we're calling her for now) was diagnosed with a genetic disorder called "22Q" very early on in our pregnancy. Basically, baby is missing a small piece of one of her chromosomes (chromosome number 22). This deletion can cause a wide range of symptoms which vary from person to person. In our case, we know that the deletion has caused baby to have a heart defect and very small kidneys. There are other common issues that babies born with 22Q may experience, so her team of doctors will be monitoring her very closely once she finally makes her appearance. We are gearing up for heart surgery within the first few days after her arrival followed by some time in the NICU.

We are going to do our very best to keep everyone updated throughout this journey we're about to take with our sweet girl. We are so grateful for all of the love, support and prayers we have already received and feel so blessed to have such an amazing support system cheering us on.
