On Wednesday December 6th Austin, a Vermont native and multi year member of the Jackson WY community,  was involved in a skiing accident at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. This accident resulted in a full break of his C4 vertebra and some damage to an artery in his neck. He was airlifted to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls where he underwent  surgery for these injuries. He is currently still in the ICU at EIRMC recovering from these injuries and and the effects of a stroke that  he sustained on Sunday December 10th. Austin is going to have a long road to recovery but he is a fighter and is keeping a good attitude.  He has always been a strong and independent individual who is most at home in the outdoors so he is looking forward to being able to spend time skiing, rafting, hunting, and camping with family and friends again. We will be posting updates here on his day to day progress as he works through the healing and rehabilitation process.
