So we begin this journey as Ashton's Village. Ashton was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer in her liver, stomach, bone and pelvis on July 22, 2021. It is always said " It takes a village..." Please stand with us in being her village. We know there is a lot of questions as we are seeking answers now and will update as soon as we know.
To give a quick synopsis Ashton and Logan bought their house in May of this year. Shortly after her move she started with hip pain sending her to the ER on May 9th where they were told she had a stress fracture. They could only explain it with a Vitamin D deficiency. Her pain only worsened and sent her back to the hospital as Logan was having to leave for work in Africa. She has been in the hospital since the end of June for pain management and where they discovered it was now considered a break instead of a stress fracture, They were going to do surgery on it but wanted to know what caused it before they did it. Many tests later, on July 22 the biopsy came back positive for Stage IV cancer in four areas. They have not determined where it originated or why. On Friday July 23rd she underwent surgery to put in her chemo port and Logan traveled back to the US. Logan, Terri and Lonnie are alternating spending time with her at the hospital at this time.
