Art has had some recent problems with balance and as a result as fallen a few times in the past year. A few weeks ago Art had fallen, spent a few days in the hospital due to minor brain bleeding and then went to a transitional care unit for a week to help him regain some of his strength and balance. He came back home on Tuesday with some med changes and a home physical therapy. Early Saturday morning, June 11th, he unfortunately fell again this time it resulting in surgery. Art had some major brain bleeding, and the surgeons at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN had to perform some pretty extensive surgery to stop the bleeding and remove the pressure on his brain. His surgery took a few hours and the neurosurgeon said overall it went well, however he is going to have a long road to recovery. Art was then transferred to the ICU at Mercy Hospital, he is on a ventilator and is receiving medication to keep him sedated.
