Artie (Tykie) Hooper

Tykie,the love of my life. Devoted and extremely  loving husband,father papa,friend. Story begins back in 1996,just bought our first home,and applied for life  insurance. Was at that time he was diagnosed  with hepatitis C. They did a liver biopsy  to determine  roughly  how long he had it. Turns out by the amount of damage  to his liver which now has cirrhosis, they conclude he must of contracted  it with his tattoo  to his loving first wife Ginny . Back in 70's common to have tattoo  parties and share the needles He went through multiple  trials of medication s,from giving himself a shot every Friday  night that put him in bed till Thursday, full well knowing ,had to repeat  process following  day. Did that for a full year,so rough,spent most days in bed. Drs believed  it worked ,was cured. 3 months after treatment  stopped,blood work showed, disease was still there. In 2003 dr told us with his liver progression  they gave him 5-8 years.Thank God,beat those odds!!Now all these new treatments  are coming out,tried and failed with  a couple,but keeping the Faith. Then just a couple of years ago he was put on Harvoni,SUCCESS story..WAS CLEARED!! Well because of the liver damage, we faithfully kept appointments  with B.I.D.M.C Boston (So very Thankful for them Dr. Afdahl❤)A few years of great dr visits & clean bills of health. Then 💣💥 July 31 ,2018 abnormal  ultrasound  & elevated  levels. Aug 2nd most dreaded phonecall, Cancer,confirmed.  Working with the best team of drs.they removed over 12.5 centimeters  of tumors. BUT,due to the disease, the length  of years without knowing anything  was wrong (hep C the silent deadly killer) his liver is now failing. Truth,Drs aren't worried so much about the cancer as they are to his liver failing. Please,prayer for him,he's  a fighter! We need him,my world ,my everything ❤🙏🙏❤
