Arthur began experiencing GI pain in late June. Ultimately, on June 29th, we ended up in the ER and thought that Arthur was going to need an appendectomy. After a CT scan, we learned that he had a large tumor obstructing his colon. Three hours later he had emergency surgery and the tumor was removed, in addition to a large portion of his colon, his appendix and gall bladder. We spent 8 long days in the hospital. Pathology confirmed that Arthur had colon cancer and five weeks after surgery he began chemotherapy. We have been told that this will be a marathon, not a sprint. We fully expect to finish this marathon with full health and a heart full of gratitude and love. The love and support we received from day one, and continue to receive to this day, carry us through this day-to-day journey. Every day we experience God's love. In Him, we know, all things are possible.
