This is not one of the things I ever imagined I would be doing. Rob and I decided CaringBridge would be the best way to share news, and also a bit easier for us. Background: my stomach has been hurting, put it down to my ulcer. In the last month it seemed to escalate. We were headed to the North Shore with Peg so made a doctor's appointment for our return. Tests, labs, X-rays; decision made to get CT scan done on Friday. We barely got back home from that appointment when we received a call telling us to immediately go to the hospital emergency as there were blood clots in my lungs.
In the emergency room they asked if we had seen the entire CT report. Being told no, the emergency room doctor sat down and read it to us. Everything pointed to cancer, including the blood clots. They saw a mass on my pancreas and it appeared to have metastasized on the liver. Shock, total, utter and complete shock. Was admitted to hospital for tests, as well as a heparin IV. On Monday this week they took a biopsy of my liver, 8 times they poked that poor thing. The preliminary diagnosis is that the cancer is pancreatic not breast cancer, no cure, no surgery. We had already come to that conclusion when it had metastasized. I was released this evening. Next Wednesday we meet with the oncologist for the complete test results and discussion of our road ahead.
🙏🏻 For all the prayers, notes, cards and love ❤️ sent we thank you. Please do keep us in your prayers, we know the Lord is walking this road with us and will continue to do so. We are especially thankful to, and for, each of you. 💜💜
