Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.
Our mom is our rock and we know she is loved by many. Since she is consistently going through many serious health challenges, we have created this site to keep our family informed.
She has had recent hemorrhaging in her brain which caused her to be in ICU. Subsequently, she is now facing mass infection on the right side of her heart and catheter. Additionaly, there are blood clots in her heart and will require blood thinning medication to treat the clots. With the recent bleeding in her brain, although it has subsided, poses potential for additional bleeding. Our mom's situation is extremely sensitive due to the various health issues. Typically this type of situation would require open heart surgery however, her heart is too damaged and weak to sustain open heart surgery. With that being said, in order to treat the infection, she will require special equipment and doctors to perform the heart procedure. Therefore, she will be transferred to Santa Clara Kaiser on Wednesday morning/afternoon for surgery on Thursday from 1:00-4:00pm. At the time of surgery, they will remove the catheter (which also has mass infection) and will use special equipment to suction out the mass infection on the right side of her heart. This is an invasive surgery and will need to be followed closely.
As you are all aware of what is going on in the world today, she is being tested and watched closely for COVID19. She has shown symptoms of the virus and it is especially important that she does not contract this virus.

Our mom has expressed she is scared and this is unlike her to say. As you all know, she is such a strong woman and has gone through so much. We are optimistic and hopeful our mom will overcome these challenges.
