Ann Gay Ann Gay's Cancer Battle

First post: Dec 31, 2017 Latest post: Aug 10, 2018

Mid December of 2017, Ann had a CT of her abdomen to figure out why she'd been experiencing so much abdomen pain over the past 3 months + (arguably, she has had discomfort for years if you ask her).  The CT showed fluid in her belly, which led to testing that revealed cancer inside the fluid.  These past 2 weeks of December have been spent at doctors' appointments and having many tests to figure out Ann's primary type of cancer.  We now believe she has stage 4 pancreatic cancer, and that it has spread into the peritoneum (the lining of the abdominal cavity).
We are still in the very early stages of figuring out treatment options and whether Ann will be treated in Topeka/KC (KU Med) or whether she will be elsewhere.  We cannot thank all of her friends and family enough for their prayers and just checking in regularly.  Ann is so blessed to have such a loving community of friends in Topeka, and family all over the place outside of Topeka.
Love, Dorsey Gay Paul (daughter) and Allison Gay Montalto (daughter)
