Anne Douglas

My mother, Anne Douglas, has been given the news that she will have to have a liver transplant. For over 5 years, her numbers from her primary doctor have caused her to seek medical care from a liver specialist.  The liver specialist has decided that the time has come that she needs to get a transplant. She has chirrosis and is getting sicker and sicker by the day. Although she has been a drinker for much of her adult life, alcohol was not the cause of her chirrosis.  Since finding out the severity of the disease, she has followed doctors' orders and done everything in her power to slow the progression of the disease.
She has now visited two transplant centers and has been denied being put on a transplant list both times.  The first denial was due to the fact that enough time had not passed since her changes in lifestyle for the team to k now she would continue to follow treatment plans. This time she has been denied because she apparently doesn't have the support system that is needed for a transplant to be successful (which is absurd)!
Please say a prayer for my mom and our family to get some answers and find a medical team willing to give my mom a chance.
