Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
Anne found out at the end of March that her kidneys where effected by her bi-polar medication, Lithium. So, she was taken off it and other medication where tried. Anne had many side effects from these medications and after 4 months of trying to correct this at home she decided to go to St. Joe's hospital for inpatient treatment. During her inpatient stay Lithium was tried again since she had been stable on that medication for 42 years. Well, the Lithium didn't work and she became toxic on it. Anne became very lethargic and non responsive. After becoming toxic she was transferred from the inpatient unit to Neurology ICU to be monitored more closely. Anne's vitals have remain stable, she is not on any oxygen, and they are correcting her electrolytes slowly. She remains in a "sleeping beauty" state since Monday. She will open her eyes at times but doesn't focus on you. We are hopeful that she is just catching up on sleep since she hasn't slept much in over a month.
