A few weeks ago we noticed that Ann had developed a cough. We thought it might be due to farmers plowing fields, (we live in the country) or seasonal allergies. The weekend of November 5th and 6th Ann spent at home with the cough and a low grade fever. On November 7th she saw our family doctor and had blood work and an chest xray. Our doctor didn't like what he saw on the xray and ordered a CT scan. The CT scan revealed hundreds of nodules in her lungs, A PET scan followed and showed a mass in her uterus. Next came a lung biopsy which showed stage 4 lung cancer. On December 5th she will have a biopsy of her uterus which will help our doctor team decide how to proceed from here. On the 6th she will have a port put in and shortly will begin her chemotherapy. Ann's doctors, nurses, care coordinators, lab people etc are some of the best in the business. Her health care is in very capable hands.
