Hello friends and family from near and far:
I wanted to share with you all some news.
On June 11th I was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer and after more extensive testing (mammogram, pet scan, ultrasound), it was confirmed I also have a tumor in my breast and lymph nodes. Additionally I will need to have a covid test and a pic line put in prior to starting chemo and radiation.
At the direction of my oncologist and radiologist the plan is to start chemo and radiology on Monday, July 13th for 5 weeks. Chemotherapy will be mainly in pill form and radiation will be every day, Monday through Friday. When asked if there is a possibility of surgery, I was told that is not the plan as of now.
I am taking it day by day and staying positive. Please feel free to leave me a message here and I will post updates as they come.
