Welcome to my CaringBridge website. I am using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. I appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

I was diagnosed April 8th, 2019 with Colorectal cancer & later found out it is Stage III - with some outer lymph nodes that are cancerous as well. I have decided to be treated with doctors in the Kingwood/Humble area and I am very happy with my decision.

We will begin my treatment with Radiation & Oral Chemo to shrink the tumor.  After 28 days, we will take a break & prepare for surgery to remove any cancer and cancerous lymph nodes. A best case scenario would be the cancer would be gone. If not, then surgery.

My family, friends, work family & people I have worked with in various organizations have all offered support during this time. I am grateful to have so many people who care.  I truly appreciate all prayers & positive energy being sent my way. Every morning I wake up & pray to St. Peregrine - the patron saint of cancer patients. I then do yoga - which definitely helps during scans & tests. After that, I do a healing visualization. I have a Blue Healing Buddha in my little Zen area along with a St. Peregrine statue, some candles, meaningful decorations & cards I have been sent.

So far, we have been able to handle everything on our own, but I am glad to know there is so much support when we will need it. I have had the opportunity to speak with a wonderful woman who has become a fast friend. She had almost the same exact cancer & is a year into recovery and cancer free. She has been treated in the same group of doctors and has really been pleased which has added to my feelings that  I'm in the right place.

I plan on working through all of this as much as possible. I hope to keep everyone updated through this website.

Some things to know:

* I am going to bed very early - don't be surprised if I don't answer or respond - I promise I will the next day.
* I appreciate being thought of but my least favorite question has quickly become - how are you feeling?  I'll always say fine or good even if it's not true.  I'll update on this website.
* I am open to everything that you or someone you know/love has done in the past that helped them during cancer treatment. I enjoy reading and hearing all of it. I take what feels right to me and add it to my arsenal.
* I am open to all prayers and positive energy.  Please don't hesitate to share my name in prayer circles. I welcome it.

I know the love that is coming from all of you will help me and my family through all of this.
