April 8, 2016 Alice had an appointment with a specialist for current and ongoing concerns regarding some bladder issues. While doing a scope in her bladder an area of concern was found. She was scheduled for surgery on the 11th to obtain a biopsy. On April 19th the pathology report came back as: High grade Urothelial Carcinoma invasive into the muscularis propria (into the muscle) This is a stage 2 cancer. Options were reviewed and found that the best plan is to go through the cancer treatments (to be determined on 27th) and to have the bladder removed for a higher cure rate. Information will be posted on this site to help keep the many friends and family informed. When asked how she is doing here is her typical response "I am praying and facing it head on". With this being the 3rd person within our family with bladder cancer (all 3 different) we are making sure that she is well taken care of. Please share your well wishes on the site.
