Adele 's lung cancer journey began June 12, 2020, when she swallowed a piece of pizza the wrong way during a deep asthmatic inhale. This may have saved her life! It led to a visit to the doctor on June 17, where a chest X-ray revealed unexpected results of a mass in her lower left lung suspected to be lung carcinoma. Additionally appointments for a CT scan and bronchoscopy quickly followed, and a biopsy of her lung and lymph nodes confirmed Stage-3 non-small cell lung cancer. Treatment will consist of high doses of chemotherapy for an undetermined amount of time followed by six weeks of radiation.
Adele is a positive, loving person with strong faith, all of which will help her through this difficult journey. She is working through this unexpected and scary process with an amazing sense of peace and strength, and asks for support through prayer. We will be posting regular updates to keep all of her friends, family and loved ones informed of status of medical appointments, treatment progress and ways to help. "I am strong and I am a positive spirit. I also know that this cancer is on purpose...there's a reason...God's will is always perfect...no matter how we tend to interpret it or allow our fears to doubt it. I don't 100% understand the message yet, but I do, without a doubt, know there is one. One of the lessons is for me to learn how to receive help from others...I'm a caregiver...it's why I'm a healer - a massage therapist. I think this process will make me that much better of a healer."
