Abigail Whiting

Hi, this is Lisa and I’m writing this on behalf of my beautiful, sweet daughter Abigail.  For those who may not know Abigail;  she is 26 years old and a genetic counselor at Ohio Health Maternal Fetal Medicine and the absolute joy of my life.  She has been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of lymphoma - this has all happened since the second week in January.  It is so frightening as the limited information on the internet is not hopeful or helpful.  Still don’t look at the Internet for medical info about this - Ab doesn’t match any of the profiles anyway.  We are focusing on her results and treatment plans.  We learned early on that we were dealing with a rare, rapidly growing, aggressive type of lymphoma. It was found during a pretty simplistic sinus surgery and the cells were sent for a biopsy.  She is being treated at The James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.  For our family and friends not from Ohio, The James Hospital is part of the Ohio State University hospital system.   Very intense.  I’ve tried to create a clinical timeline on the Jan. 30 journal entry. We wanted to share what has occurred so far.  If I change tenses, please excuse my grammar.   We are being open and transparent about this journey as we need all the love, support, prayers and healing thoughts as we can get.  

I wanted to get this journey down on paper.  My apologies if either of us have not responded to a text or phone call-  we appreciate every bit of support and love.  Just mind-numbing tiredness has set in.  We have had some incredible experiences so far and I will share some in the coming days and weeks.  All of the prayers and good thoughts have kept us balanced and our hearts full of love.  We love and appreciate each one of you.  Thank you for being a part of this journey.
