Abby Droessler

Welcome to Abby's CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.Our Abby was injured in a watercraft accident Monday (July 11) near Hayward while celebrating her 15th birthday. She is presently hospitalized at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth and making progress. A special thanks to all the friends, bystanders, first responders and hospital personnel who have all exhibited great care and love, from her rescue to the ambulance driver who braved severe weather on the drive to Duluth and for the care she has received in Hayward and Duluth. As everyone knows, Abby is a strong young woman, an athlete and a fighter. She still faces a challenging road to recovery and will need everyone's encouragement. Since arriving at the hospital Monday night, she has undergone several surgeries, primarily to maintain proper circulation in her right leg. She remains in intensive care with more surgery planned. She was sedated for a few days to help her healing. Thursday doctors took her off sedation and she is now breathing normally. She is not presently able to receive visitors.

Friends can use Anne (715.520.7613) as a primary information source to allow Ben, Meghan and their family to remain focused on Abby's care and well being.Whether you are there with Abby or back home, your thoughts and prayers are genuinely felt by Abby and her family.
