Welcome to Abbie's site. We are using it to help keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
Four years ago, we started this journey. Abbie wasn't feeling well. She had a progressive set of neurological symptoms starting with vision problems, chronic pain and sleep issues and then tremors and seizures. Abbie has had numerous blood draws, spinal taps and MRIs in an attempt to get a clear diagnosis at FMC, Phoenix Children's Hospital, U.C.S.F. and the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. At the Mayo she was diagnosed with Dysautonomia - which is a failure of the autonomic nervous system. You can read more about Dysautonomia here

In August of this year, Abbie was found unconscious in Buffalo Park, and the radiologist at FMC found a brain tumor on an MRI. We located a really good surgeon named Dr. Sunil J. Patel, who is the chair of the Department of Neurosurgery at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr Patel believes the that once the tumor has been removed, many of Abbie's symptoms will go away. Her surgery is set for December 5th at 5:30am. Please keep your fingers crossed and positive energy flowing our way.
