CaringBridge Kicks-Off Holiday Giving Campaign with $100,000 Challenge Grant from the Schulze Family Foundation

Eagan, Minn. (Nov. 27, 2018) – Today, CaringBridge, the global nonprofit social network, launches their annual year-end giving campaign to raise $1.5 million. The campaign starts on #GivingTuesday, the global day of giving, with a challenge from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation – if CaringBridge raises $100,000 in a single day, the Foundation will match it.

The Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation, started by Best Buy Founder Richard Schulze, has issued this challenge to the CaringBridge community. If $100,000 is raised from new or existing donors, on Giving Tuesday this November 27, the Foundation will generously match those donations with a $100,000 gift. However, if CaringBridge cannot raise $100,000 by midnight on November 27, they forgo the Schulze Family Foundation challenge grant.

With the support of such generous donors, CaringBridge offers free personal websites to connect family and friends to those going through a health journey. Donating to CaringBridge ensures no one endures a health crisis without support and connection from loved ones. Nearly 90 percent of all CaringBridge funding comes from the generosity of people who have used the network themselves to share their own health journey or the journey of a friend or family member.

“We are so grateful for our donors and their unending generosity that allows CaringBridge to provide a safe place for communication, help and healing for people when they need it most,” said Liwanag Ojala, CEO of CaringBridge. “CaringBridge is funded by those who’ve been touched by our service. Now, thanks to the amazing Schulze Family Foundation challenge grant, we need our donors continued support to unlock this gift to keep CaringBridge free, ad-free and safe.”

The giving campaign continues through the end of the year with a series of four additional match opportunities from generous friends of CaringBridge. With these donations, CaringBridge provides a platform for hundreds of thousands of courageous people to mobilize the power of community to support healing and to ensure that no one goes through a health journey alone.

The year-end giving campaign runs through December 31, 2018. To learn more or make a tax-deductible contribution online, visit caringbridge.org/give.
