CaringBridge Board Pledges $100,000 Match on Giving Tuesday

Eagan, Minn. (Nov. 28, 2017) – Today, CaringBridge, the global nonprofit social network, launches their annual year-end giving campaign to raise $1.5 million. The campaign starts on #GivingTuesday, the global day of giving, with a pledge from the CaringBridge Board of Directors to match donor contributions up to $100,000, November 28 through December 1.

Fueled by the generosity of donors, CaringBridge offers free personal, private websites to connect family and friends to those experiencing a health crisis. Donating to CaringBridge ensures every person who uses the social network has the support and healing that everyone needs during a health journey.

“The Board is constantly inspired by the people who use CaringBridge and their stories of hope and healing,” said Bill McKinney, CaringBridge Board of Directors Chair. “We are so grateful for the generosity of donors who make CaringBridge possible and are pleased to fuel the support and celebrate the season of healing.”

Nearly 90 percent of all CaringBridge funding comes from the donations of people who have used the network themselves to share their own health journey or the journey of a loved one. The “Season of Giving and Healing” campaign, which extends through the end of the year, will feature an additional four matching donation opportunities spread throughout the month of December.

Through donations, CaringBridge provides a platform for hundreds of thousands of courageous people with powerful stories to support and inspire each other.

“As a nonprofit, CaringBridge relies on donations to allow anyone facing a health journey the ability to connect with their family and friends in the way they choose, with no ads to distract from their story,” said Liwanag Ojala, CEO of CaringBridge. “Thanks to donors, they have a social network focused on their health journey, which will surround them with the help and healing they need.”

The year-end giving campaign runs through December 31, 2017. To learn more or make a tax-deductible contribution, visit caringbridge.org/give.
