CaringBridge Team Gives Big for Give to the Max

Eagan, Minn. – (November 12, 2020) – Community plays a powerful role in a health journey, especially during a challenging year like this one. The CaringBridge team works hard to ensure those who are going through a health journey continue to have access to the essential resources the online platform has to offer. As part of those efforts, the CaringBridge team is pledging $15,000 in match contributions for Give to the Max Day on November 19.

“The importance of connection cannot be overstated, especially in these difficult times,” said Liwanag Ojala, CaringBridge CEO. “I’m so grateful for the efforts from our entire staff, not only during this match opportunity, but also for the work they do day in and day out to provide a safe space for community during a health journey.”

The Power of CaringBridge

CaringBridge is a global, nonprofit social network dedicated to helping family and friends communicate with and support loved ones during a health journey. Thanks to compassionate donors, CaringBridge offers free, personal, protected websites for people to easily share updates and receive strength and encouragement from their community. CaringBridge was the first social networking site for communicating during a health event and since 1997 has hosted the sites of nearly 850,000 CaringBridge users. These sites are the products of donations with nearly 90% of funding coming from the people who have experienced the power of CaringBridge firsthand.

“CaringBridge helped my family, especially my sister, when we were dealing with all of the feelings associated with isolation and extreme loneliness throughout her illness. It brought all of her family and friends around the world together into one, beautiful place,” said Kelly Espy, a fundraising campaign manager at CaringBridge.
