I wandered onto your website today. I was really shocked to find your daughter has so many of the symptoms my daughter suffered through with Aicardi Syndrome. I lost my daughter at 14 months old. I loved reading some of your older posts. You all have adopted the "comfort" care that we held for our daughter. I wish I had time to read even more....their symptoms are SO similar. My daughter had ACC, infantile spasms (not sure that is what your daughter has) and low tone. Anyway I would love to hear from you...it is rare to find another family with a similar diagnosis.

We are from Houston but living in Africa right now with my husband's job.

You are so strong with the task you have been given and so inspirational to make others looking in not sweat the small things that burden our daily lives. What a blessing you have been to my life. As I read your journal entries, it's as if you had just jumped into my head and put my thoughts into words. Our girls are such wonderful gifts from the Lord, as is the friendship we've built because of them. Your right, the reality of our lives is different and what a comfort it is to know that someone else out there understands. God Bless. SallyBrown sends her best friend, RyleeBug, lots of hugs.

I can not believe reading back on your first entry on how it was like reading my own diary... how you talked about having to put faith in the doctors and nurses because we aren't experts so if they don't think anything's wrong then our babies must be ok... Tom and I were just overlooked everytime we asked them 'is this normal? why isn't she eating? why is she not responding to pain? why will she not wake up?' it just was the worst nightmare to be made to feel like an "overworried" parent, knowing SOMETHING'S NOT RIGHT WITH YOUR CHILD! if it wasnt for me telling them i didn't want to go home, they would have sent me home on day 2... i said no, she's not breastfeeding like she should be so i don't feel comfortable... if i would have taken her home she would have died on day 4. IT JUST KILLS ME INSIDE to think that no one would listen to us... and I was alone when Kami needed to be put on her ventilator as well... staring at my baby girl with a tube helping her breath... the suctioning was the worst for me, i hated seeing them do that... and the alarms from the machines? i can't get that sound out of my head... and she seemed so perfectly normal on the outside, like a giant amongst the premiee babies... i just can't believe how similiar our stories were, except that your precious angel is still thriving... Kami survived removing the vent even though they told us she wouldn't... but it only lasted another week... she's in heaven now and I just pray we made the right decision... she had the ACC and club foot... we were told she was the most severe they'd seen and she wouldn't even have an IQ, it would be immeasurable... i just pray we did the right thing... i'd give anything just to be able to hold her one more day... i just felt so selfish to keep her here...

i hope Rylee continues to go the path she's going... i will pray for you!

Hi Deborah, I set my candle out on Sunday for our precious angel, Kaymean Shea. This is a sweet way to remember all the little angels already safe in the arms of Jesus. She will always be in my heart and I think of her every day and keep remembering that our God makes no mistakes. Tell my other two angels Mamaw loves them. Love,Mom

This morning at our church was childrens Sabbath and the kids helped with different parts of the service. The pre-schoolers opened the service singing "This Little Light of Mine" and holding their small fingers up.I thought how appropriate being that we are to honor children today that have gone on to Heaven by lighting candles.Thinking of you today and everyday. We will not forget...Love you all!!!

Deb, I have been following your family since Rylee was born and have been so blessed by your reports on the girls. It seems your pain is our pain, and your joy is ours also. As a mother of a little girl with NKH, and a mother who has lost a baby to NKH, I can relate so well to what you are going through and look forward to reading your uplifting journal entries. Because Rylee and Livie are the same age, it's so nice to be able to talk with you about their care and such. I call Rylee Livie's special friend! God bless you all.

Hey Deb and Aaron, I was just thinking, yea I know thats a scary thought. It has been raining the last couple of days, but God put a special thought into my mind. I know the rain is glum and depressing, but I think that my neice is in training in heaven now. There is a song about her, its goes, do you think that God could use another angel to help pour out the rain??? Well, it was raining alot the last couple of days, the rain wasn't depressing at all, it is awesome knowing she is not ill anymore and that she is with the almighty creator and father, and we know she is a very very special angel in our lives forever, but every time it rains I think I will think of Kaymaen and maybe.... she is a special angel pouring rain down on us. I love you and Aaron and the girls very much. I'm very proud of you both. To bad we don't have some mac and cheese....... not everyone knows about that one.

Dear Sweet Deb,
Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive.
I asked God for water, He gave me an ocean.*
I asked God for a flower, He gave me a garden.*
I asked God for a friend, He gave me all of YOU...Ryann, Rylee You and Aaron.
If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.
Happy moments, praise God.
Difficult moments, seek God.
Quiet moments, worship God.
Painful moments, trust God.
Every moment, thank God.
I love you!

Hey Deb! I get the pleasure of terrorizing Aaron professionally on a daily basis. Just today found out about the web site. I am a member of an online support group for a birth defect that I was born with.... I find so much love and support with the group, especially from the mom's. Take care and know that you, Aaron, Ryann and Rylee are in my prayers.

Beautiful entry Deb - you sure are blessed with a gift of writing. This entry reminded me of another song...part of it says - "many things about tomorrow, I don't seem to understand - but I know who holds tomorrow and I know who holds my hand" It's so good to know that we don't have to figure these hard things out for ourselves - that God is in control. You (and your family) are such an inspiration to me.

P.S. I am hoping that Extreme Home Makeover picks you all - how could they resist such an adorable family.

Hi Deb, Aaron, Ryann and Rylee,
First of all I want to say I had such a good time at Viv's spending time with you and the girls and at your house last Friday night even tho you went on a "date" with Aaron. That mawmaw she is so thoughtful to call me and make time for me and Billy to see the girls. I know she gives up her time with them so I can spend a little time with them. I loved every minute I spent with them. The next time I get to come we are going to have a real tea party, yes with real cookies, ok mom?
One more thing, I am so proud to know such a loving, caring and giving mom like you, and Aaron too, I thank the Lord for you both being in my life. God is so Good to me!!!!
Love you, as always,

Sandy J <proctorvil@yahoo.com>
Proctorville, Oh Lawrence - Monday, April 25, 2005 9:09 PM CDT
Deborah, God has a definitely plan for all our lives .Sometimes those plans have a little curve in the road for some of us.
When I read the journal today it reminded me so much of several years ago with my son. I did not question Gods plan but somedays it seemed awfully hard. But God has remained by our side thru every trial and every victory ,just as he is with you and your family. I think of you often and pray for all of you daily.
There is a song they used to sing at church, It says
"HE WAS THERE ALL THE TIME"
We KNOW WITH OUT A SHADOW OF A DOUBT HE IS THERE ALL THE TIME.
God has given you an angel from heaven to care for here on earth, and you are and will be blessed beyond measure with every moment you have with her.
Some people never know the closeness and the peace of God that he gives you when you go thru these trials. Just to read you thoughts about the 2 little girls and how you describe them is such a blessing to know he is comforting you thru all this.
May the Lord continue to bless and keep your family in his loving arms. Karen Gillispie

Wow Deborah! I just wanted you to know that your journal entry was so touching! I'm sitting here sobbing at my computer at work (hope no one walks in:) I was sitting here having one of those "pity parties" but we do have so much to be thankful for - not only for family, friends, etc. - but just for the fact that he cares for me so much that he laid it on my heart to go on your website today - then he used you to touch my life. We do have alot to be thankful for. Anyway - God is using you and your family in a mighty way, Deb. Just wanted to let you know.

Happy Easter everyone. This is Uncle Steve checkin in, actually my first time, I'm a slacker. God is so amazing. I woke up this morning with the sun shining in my bedroom window and looking at a blue sky, as i rolled over i saw 2 little angels on my wall, their names, Rylee and Ryan Davis. I'm there Uncle, Deb's little brother. It over whelms me to how big our family really is and how supportive people are and how much people love Aaron and Deb and the girls. I just wanna say thank you to everyone, and tell Deb and Aarron they are great and the Lord truly shines through them and i don't say it enough, but I love you both. I work for a pharmaceutical company and once in a blue moon I am fortunate enough to meet a wonderful and sweet person. This persons name is Beth and everytime I am around her I am reminded how wonderful life is and how much we take for granted. She gave me this web site and always updates me on Rylee's condition. I also have a daughter who is 7months old. Makes me realize how very lucky I am to have such a healthy baby. I can tell just by Beth and her wonderful attitude that Rylee must be in a amazing family. I live in Lexington and have a church there who would be more than happy to pray for Rylee and her family. I know God has a plan for Rylee and her families life, for we know all things work together for good........to them who love God.

I had the pleasure of meeting a very sweet lady on a plane from Atlanta GA. She is the Aunt of this sweet baby. She told me so much about baby Rylee and her sister Ryann. I could tell how proud she was to be the aunt and what a sweet family they must ALL be in. I live in Charleston, WV and will add baby Rylee's name to our church prayer list. Thank you Beth for sitting beside me on the plane, and for your sweet kind spirit. Makes me feel very blessed to meet people like this. Thank you again

I must say..anyone meeting Rylee, Ryan and her mommy and daddy would have to know that there is definitely love in the house. (I also have to add a love that comes from their love of Christ). I count it an enormous privilege to go into your home as health permits, to be able to lay my hands on your beautiful child, to pray for her throughout the visit and to be blessed by Ryan as well. I see a deep deep love in all your eyes and it is truly a blessing and privilege to be a part of that. I truly treasure it.

Hi. I enjoyed spending the weekend with Vivian and Butch. Now THEY are a couple of PROUD grandparents. It was so encouraging to hear how the Lord is using Rylee and her mommy and daddy as testimonies of His love and goodness to the different medical staff you are working so closely with. It is easy for doctors and nurses to focus on science and technology, and forget that we have a Great Physician who delights in surprising us by doing things beyond all that we ask or dream! You have two beautiful little girls. I'll be praying for you all.

I was visting your site and saw where you were asking about a carrier that might work with Rylee. There is one -
found on WalMart.com. If you go to the section labeled "baby" then select "gear" and then "carriers" you will find a sling carrier "Carry-on Pull Over Sling Carrier". It is made by Leachco. It is inexpensive and looks like what you described would fit your needs.

I know that it is a natural reaction to focus on a baby and its mommy during hard times. I just wanted to leave a little note to say thank you to Aaron. Aaron, you are an absolutely wonderful husband and father! I am so thankful that Deborah and the girls have you to count on and to lean on. It can't be easy being husband, dad, financial and emotional support all rolled into one all the time. Thank you for being so strong for all of us and taking such good care of Deborah, Ryann and Rylee! We love you!

Deborah,Aaron,
IT WAS A TOTAL JOY TO SEE AND READ YOUR WEB PAGE. PEOPLE WILL ALWAYS ASK YOU SILLY QUESTIONS. I HAVE FOUND OVER THE LAST 24 YEARS WITH NATHAN THAT PEOPLE DON'T MEAN TO SOUND AND ASK SUCH STUPID QUESTIONS. A LOT OF TIMES IT IS OUT OF IGNORANCE OF THE SITUATION. GOD IS IN TOTAL CONTROL AS YOU WELL KNOW AND HE WILL GIVE BOTH OF YOU THE STRENTH TO CARE FOR RYLEE AND ALL YOUR NEEDS. THANK GOD EVERY DAY FOR RYLEE AND LOVE HER WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND SOUL.
I HAVE BEEN BLESSED FOR 24 YRS. WITH NATHAN AND DRS. TOLD US MANY TIMES HE WOULDN'T LIVE .WE STILL HAVE HIM AND HE HAS BEEN THE MOST WONDERFUL JOY TO MINE AND EDDIE'S LIFE.
WE NEVER KNOW WHAT WE WILL FACE TOMORROW,BUT WE HAVE THE ASSURANCE THAT GOD WILL BE RIGHT THERE WITH US EACH STEP OF THE WAY.
YOU HAVE BEEN IN OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ,(YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY)FOR MONTHS . YOU ARE A BLESSING AND STILL AS WONDERFUL AS AN ADULT AS YOU WERE A LITTLE GIRL.GOD GAVE RYLEE TO YOU AS A SPECIAL GIFT ONLY FROM HIM AND HE HAS ENTRUSTED YOU AS THE MOMMMY TO CARE FOR HER . HE KNOWS ALL AND KNEW YOU WERE THE BEST FOR HER . I HAVE COUNTED IT AN HONOR TO BE THE CAREGIVER FOR ONE OF GOD'S ANGEL'S AND I KNOW YOU DO TOO.
GOD BLESS YOU AND KEEP YOU AND AARON AND BOTH YOUR BEAUTIFUL GIRLS.
P.S YOU DID A FANTASTIC JOB ON THE INTERVIEW ABOUT EARLY

Your situation was forwarded to me for prayer by a family member of one of the nurses attending Rylee. After reading the questions and comments you had received, I somewhat expected to see some "abnormal" features; what I saw was not only a normal looking baby, but an absolutelly beautiful little baby girl, and a beautiful family. What I read, was faith in action. Just keep loving that little girl; and keep trusting in our soverign Lord to keep her in your care or take her home in His own time.

Deborah,
Congratulations on your new little one. Both your girls are absolutely gorgeous! Ryann is looking like such a big girl now! Being a mommy is such a wonderful blessing. We don't always know or understand the reasons things happen to us in our lives, but God has entrusted you and your family with an extra special little gift. I know if anyone is up for the challenges (and blessings) that are most certainly ahead of you, it is you. Stay strong. Let us know at MFP if there is anything you need.

Dear Aaron, Deb, Ryann & Rylee
I have heard so much about you and the "two beautiful girls" that you have from their Aunt Beth, who thinks that they hung the moon. I can see why. I just want you to know that I believe God has blessed you with a very "special angel" from above. He knows that you are just the person to take care of her & make the best of the situation. After seeing your web page & reading all, I can see that you are a go getter and will not give up. You are all in my prayers & I pray that God will give you a miracle. He has watched over Rylee this far & he will continue to be watching over her all the way. Take each day and cherish all that God has to offer you. Prayers are with all of you.

Dear Aaron, Deb, Ryann and Rylee,
Until today we did not know the extent of Rylee's condition, only that she was critically ill. We have kept you in our prayers, and we have asked each and every time we call the office how your family is doing. Today brought a new light to our eyes and a love to your family from all of us for your "miracle" little girl. Ryann is so sweet and you are so blessed to have her in your lives and to have the opportunity to give Rylee all your love, caring and unboundless attention. We will continue to pray for all of you and have the gift of knowing that God will keep you close in his love.
And, as we extended ourselves to you today, we will keep you all in our hearts. Sincerely, Summit Elec. Corp.
