Yay! Only four more weeks for the baby to arrive. That's exciting all looks well. Hopefully it will continue that way and the cordblood will be a match. We are still saving ours even though he's not a match...just in case he matches any future children. Glad Evan's counts are still doing pretty good, though it's hard when they lower at all. Hope you have a great Christmas!

Hey girlie! Sean's cousin has KFS. I was actually just talking with him yesterday. If that is what Evan turns out to have, I'm sure if you ever had any questions, he would help. Just letting you know. It's that continuous drama thing isn't it??!! I LOVE FA! Give Claire, Evan, and Rachel a big hug for us (some new pics of the family would be nice)-no pressure. Because you know, you did deny us actually hugs this year because you didn't come to camp. I think a few pics is the least you could do ;0) Miss you guys and I hope the belly is doing great.

When we had our first evaluation when Wesley was a baby they advised occupational therapy, speech therapy, and physical therapy each once a week in our home. It was so overwhelming to know that they saw all these delays already in him. I look at him now and know that it was the best decision to do all that for him. He runs and jumps and although I can't always understand him, I know he speaks more clear than he would than without the therapy. I think it's good someone is noticing and taking the initiative to help Evan now. Doesn't it stink though? It's like, don't I have enough drama to worry about? It's funny when I tell people about Wesley, the list goes on forever when I tell them all the things he has going on. His ears, his hands, his heart, his kidneys, his size, his bone marrow, his delays, his hearing aid. People can't believe when they see him what normal little boy he is despite all the "drama". Evan is an amazing strong, beautiful, smart young man. What a beautiful family you have and I want to thank you again for raising funds for FARF. Your help affects so many, including Wesley. You're awesome! Stay strong.

Great to hear that most of his counts went up. Not fun that his platelets are staying fairly steady around 150...it's always nice if they will go back up after they drop. I hope with more time they go back up! It's fun to see an update. I remember when I first joined the FA group, I think Evan was just over a year old or so. I think he's just a year older than Emma and we joined when she was a few months old. It's amazing how time flies! Hope life is going great and the baby is growing strong and healthy.

Take care,

Thank you for your guestbook entry on Emma's site:-) When I saw it, I was hoping you had updated your site, and you had - yay!

Anyway, Emma's and Evan's counts are remarkably similar. She is due for another test next month. I can totally picture little Evan's face with the pale face, redness around his eyes. Emma does that as well. Sometimes she gets really dark circles around her eyes and I just want to grab her and hug her (so I do) and I hope that everything is okay. I know compared to other, really sick FA children, Emma is doing well...but still, I can't help but compare her to a healthy child. Anyway, mostly rambling to say that my heart is with you guys and I am right here with you feeling the same paranoia. Emma quit taking naps too. You mentioned something about naps. She stopped a couple months ago. Good luck with the braces for his legs. I hope that works well for him.

Take care!
Teresa
PS: I really liked that quote you wrote in Emma's guestbook. It's SO true!

Kim ~ AWESOME news about Evan's bone marrow cellularity and other results!! I have a funny story about my 4-y-o (who does not have FA but was always a tippy-toe walker too)... she was in O.T. for a year for various things and we were told to remind her to put her heels down every single time she was on toes. She's much better now, but just before we left for NYC I said it to her and she says, "But I'm trying to reach the paper!". Haha. She's a tiny little thing!

I'm incredibly impressed with how awesome he does at the doctors! Emma is pretty much the opposite of that. We're working with her, though, to try to help her to not be so afraid. We've realized that she hates to be forced into doing things. If they take a little bit more time and ask her to do whatever they need and explain it, she does better. It's been nice to figure something out! That is awesome that Evan is doing so great. I will be checking back to see what his results are. It seems like everyone is getting biopsies this month. Emma's is on the 21st. Hope everything else is going well!

Take care,

Kim, I am so excited about your new arrival! You can just tell by your words how special your family is. I pray that Rachel is a match for Evan. Wouldn't that be another wonderful gift?! The first is, of course, that Rachel is FA FREE!!! I am so happy to read that! Good luck and God bless. I'll be checking to see how Evan's blood work turns out too.

Hello Evan and Claire. This is Wesley's mom. We met at camp this year. I have your site in my "favorites" and check it once a day. Tell your momma to keep us informed about what is going on because I think of you everyday when I check on you. Plus, if it takes too long between updates, I always get paranoid and think the worst. It's a mom thing. Wesley is sitting on my lap now and says "hi". Good luck with the new baby and I can't wait to read how things are going. I pray for the best news possible!

Wow. You guys have had a lot going on. I have missed seeing your journal entries, it was good to get such a long one! That is scary about Claire possibly having FA. We pray that you find good news about that. Good luck with everything else you need to do for Evan. So many things!!! He's just a gorgeous little man, and his sister is a beautiful little girl. I'm sad we didn't get to meet at the FA meeting (hmm...since we didn't end up going), hopefully next year we will!!!

Take care,
