I'm sorry I haven't updated - I did put some new photos in the photo album of Dylan at home. He's doing great still. Pretty much back to normal but still a little sore at his incision site so no wrestling with his friends yet. He's had a fun week hanging out with Dad and the neighbors last week while I went back to work. They played lots of Pokemon Nintendo :) He's looking forward to going back to Preschool on Tuesday and than his follow-up with the cardiologist and surgeon is Wednesday next week. We're crossing our fingers that he can be DONE with any heart meds for the first time since he was 6 weeks of age.

Thanx again for everything. I'll try to keep updating every couple weeks or so.

We're having another good day here. Dylan had his chest tube taken out and IV capped this morning. He took a trip to the playroom with Grandma & Grandpa, Grandma Delores & his Dad then. Was pretty tired then so he had a rest. He hasn't had any morphine since early yesterday morning. Just tylenol and motrin. He's eating a good lunch now and we're planning on another trip to the playroom then. Dylan is in really good spirits and having fun playing and being the center of the world. :) If he keeps going the way he is there's a possiblity he could be outta here TOMMORROW! :)

Tony, John, Mike, Dave and Dave - if you're reading this - THANK YOU FOR THE PACKAGE FOR DYLAN! He loved it. :)

One more step towards "outta here"! Dylan is out of ICU :) We moved upstairs to a regular room (room 427) around 3 this afternoon. Dylan had a good morning while I slept a few hours (this is Dee). He drank some juice, ate a banana and some jello. Watched a couple movies and best of all got to sit in Daddy's lap and Granpda's lap most of the morning. They removed most of his tubes except for the chest tube and a couple of IV's. Hopefully the chest tube will come out tommorrow and we'll get to see another show of "Dylan on the silly medicine" for that. His heart is "clenching" (Dr's words not mine!) a bit when it pumps, so he is back on one of his heart meds but only 1/2 the dose he used to take. He's been sleeping very comfortably now for about an hour and a half and has been promised french fries when he wakes up. Uncle Leon and Aunt Joyce came by for a quick visit while he was sleeping and we really appreciated them coming by. :) The fact that he's recovering so much faster than they anticipated has us really happy and hopeful to be back home soon.

It's really meant a lot to Chuck and I to read all the messages from everyone who wrote in the message board and emailed. Someday we hope to thank each and every one of you personally! Thank you again for all the thoughts and prayers.

Dylan had a good night. He had a bit of a fever that is down now. He wants to eat and drink and get up, but is not allowed yet. We're hoping the chest tubes will be removed today and will see what the doctors say when they come around. The nurse told Dylan's mom and dad he's the sweetest boy she's cared for. Aunt Nynah is not surprised. :)

Dylan is out of surgery and resting in the PICU. Everything went superbly! His resting gradient while still sedated was ZERO, which is outstanding! He should wake up in the next 4-6 hours and mom and dad and grandma and grandpa are standing by waiting for that. (This is his Aunt Nynah). He will be in PICU for the next couple days, and then moved to another room where he will stay hopefully only another 7-10 days. Thank you again for all of the thoughts and prayers, and well wishes. Our prayers were answered!

Things are still going well! He's off of the bypass - his heart function is extremely improved. He still has a slight leak in his valve but nothing to be worried about. By 2 or 2:30 he should be back in ICU. He'll probably be in ICU then until Wednesday and than back on the regular floor for anywhere from 5 to 10 more days depending on how he recovers. We're doing well - eating some lunch now and anxiously awaiting being able to see him again. Thank you thank you thank you for all the messages and emails and thoughts and prayers. They're working!!

The surgeon is done with the myectomy part of Dylan's surgery. He's now starting on the valve repair. He's still confident they can repair it and not have to replace it. So far things are going along well and we can't wait to see him again in a few hours.

Dylan is in surgery now and all the lines are hooked up and they're ready to go in. He should be on bypass by 10:30 which is when we'll get another update. He was quite silly once he took the Versed. I told him he was allowed to say "stupid" being as he was on the silly medicine. Usually we tell him "that's not a nice word" if he uses the word stupid. So, needless to say he said "stupid, stupid, stupid" several times sounding like a drunken sailor. :) So - we're just sitting and waiting till the next update. Thanx again for all the thoughts and prayers!!

Dylan's heart surgery is scheduled for 8:30 Monday morning (April 19th). We're having a nice quiet weekend just hanging out together as a family. Cory and Dylan just had a wrestling match on the sofa pull-out bed and now Aunt Nynah and Dylan are "having a sleep-over". Grandma and Grandpa are coming up tommorrow to visit before the big day. Dylan is doing well right now. He had a full day of pre-op yesterday and we're just taking it easy and trying to stay healthy now this weekend. Everyone in the family and at the babysitters house has had a nasty flu/cold that Dylan has so far avoided. If he even has a sniffle they'll postpone his surgery, so hopefully he'll stay sniffle free.

If you're checking this page to see how Dylan is doing, - thank you for all the thoughts and prayers. I'll try to update as often as possible.
