OK, so I take a hiatus from your site and find out you've been meeting your old staff at Marshfield. Perhaps you could simply schedule a "lunch date" rather than an admittence to see how they are doing? Glad to catch up and find that all is going better. An extra hour sleep is always good for the body AND morale! We are happy that all are back together, no doubt the twins had questions about the absence AGAIN, when they were probably just getting accustomed to their family. Know that you are in every meal prayer as well as other times, but those are the kid-initiated times. Greetings and what wonderful news! Why did I think that you had to be within an hour from the hospital for almost a month? Man, this is simply amazing! I certainly can relate to the non-hopping feeling Mom, but drat, do the kids have to heal THAT quickly? Unreal to be following this miracle train and know that the tunnel is cleared for Ben to move into the next step, whatever it might be. No doubt the twins are eager to have Mom, Dad, and big brother home, but I would also expect that they will find it in their actions to make life a tad difficult for a while having had so many cool and great sitters etc. Oh, well, that's in their job description, so hang in there. INCREDIBLY GREAT NEWS!!!!! Who had more fun in Legoland, Dad or Ben? I always thought that was the best part of the Mall, since I don't do much shopping. Excellent news!!! I have been thinking about you guys all day today and was praying for good news. Jack's transplant was at Fairview so we are familiar with it there. If there is anything we can help you out with, please let us know. They have a big, beautiful Ronald McDonald House there with wonderful apartments and meals there for $15 a night. We were so blessed to stay there during Jack's stay. It is only acouple of blocks from the hospital so it is very convenient. Good luck at your appointment on the 27th. It will be a long day but the first step in the process of getting a plan in place! Please give us a call or email if we can answer any questions! Merry Christmas!!

I will be praying that the "spot" is nothing and the radiologist is right in not being concerned at this point. Boy, 6 weeks is a long time for a cancer mom to wait though Michelle!!!! Glad to read that everything else checked out ok though. So are the mattresses down as far as they can go in the crib so they can stay contained for awhile longer??? I remember Ali quit napping early, and though I missed a couple hours of freedom in the afternoon, she went to bed at 7:00 so my nights were freed up. Good luck in how the situation turns out!! What wonderful news!! Good going,Ben!! You are the toughest kid I have ever known (and I have known LOTS of kids!), Mr. Thompson and I just returned from Gettysburg PA this morning...what an awesome and humbling experience. It is amazing to stand on the ground where so many brave men fought for the fundamentals of what makes our country great. I plan on doing more studying about the Civil War, it was so very important and I realized I forgot more than I remembered of what all happened during that time. When you get a chance to go out there, do a little research beforehand...I guarantee you will be amazed, right down to all the pennies in the cemetery!!

It was so good to see you at the concert rehearsal! I miss seeing all you guys once you get to the "Big School"...you are all getting so grown-up!! I finally got my two wheels on the road for a 45 mile ride on Saturday. Yesterday I went to Holman to meet with my WOW Chapter members and after lunch we rode. I had tallyed 223 miles by the time I got back home. I was weary! If not for the full-face helmet, one could see me smile!

The only drawback is that Scott makes them wash the 4-wheelers before they can go back in the garage. I hope your nausea goes away, maybe if you get a little of that puke on the doctors that say you shouldn't have an upset stomach they would believe you! Just a thought! Hang in there mom! Being a schedule oriented person myself I understand your frustration. Letting go of that need to have a plan and stick to it is easier said than done!

Sorry to hear about the horrible nausea..........but I
had a thought. Devin made onion rings last night and
the house reeked of grease and onions..........I know
not a good image.........BUT......I plugged in our
air filter (2 pack from Sam's club for a real deal)
and it really got rid of the stench fast. I'm
just wondering if maybe (if you don't already
have one) that maybe an air purifier might
keep him from the 'smells'. I remember those
days when no one else could smell anything,
yet the nausea was overwhelming for Devin.

Today is St. Patrick's Day. St. Patrick is remembered for driving the snakes out of Ireland. If that's true, then I am asking St. Patrick today to pray for you to help drive that nasty cancer from your body.
Do you know where the country of Costa Rica is located? If not...look it up on a map. It's a small country in Central America. I live in Costa Rica with my wife and two children and we love it here. Lots of monkeys, toucans, sloths, volcanos, beautiful beaches and lots more. I also want you to know that you have someone who cares about you and wants the best for you all the way in Costa Rica. Who knows...maybe someday you can come and visit us here in Costa Rica! Until that day...you keep on believing and we will keep praying for a better tomorrow for you Ben.

We are good friends with Sarah and Brad. You know my daughter Maddy, she and Katie are good friends. She came to your house last year and had a great time on the "farm". We have a son just about your age, Thomas, he will be 10 in July. So whenever Sarah and Brad tell us about you I always think, what if it was Thomas. Uncle Matt's copying your parents' car keys and will lend his Magellan GPS. Uncle Mike's going to show you how to reset the odometers. If that doesn't work, he'll adjust his truck to run silently so you can borrow it without waking anyone. Uncle Marty in Detroit and me in Duluth will cover your weekend absences with alibis. All in all, you should be able to tailgate at Seahawks games this season without anyone knowing! Excellent plan!

Yes, Scott and Margaret are expecting. They brought Barron over and he had a Tshirt on that said "Big Brother". That is how they announced it. FUN, FUN, FUN! That will be 6 grandkids under 5 1/2! Christmas should be fun!! Tom and I leave for Florida for 10 days this week. Can't wait! I will be celebrating my 60th birthday with my high school girlfriend who lives down there. She turns 60 6 days before me~~so she is older!!! I am going to be the age my mother was when I thought she was OLD! How did that happen?

You could say "stepped on a frog" in school and your teacher won't understand. Not that I'd ever recommend doing such a thing. Just making a random observation.

I saw Jack Zamzow at The Lake Superior Ad Federation awards Saturday night. The HT Klatzky ad agency made his TV spot and they're from Duluth. They entered Jack's ad in the contest. It won a Gold Addy award which means it goes on to District competition. It also made Judges Row which means it was one of top 10 of ANYTHING created in northern MN and WI. The best part was watching a 6' tall Jack run across a huge video screen.

So glad to read the detailed update! I am so glad that Ben's appointment went well and that he is still cancer free and things are looking good as far as a future transplant.

I hope your screening goes well Michelle. That would be awesome if you could be Ben's donor. I am finally registered as a bone marrow transplant donor. What a good feeling that would be to save someone's life!

We will be at St. Baldrick's again as well, so it will be good to see you all there. Does Hannah want to be a sweeper or will she be busy with Ava or Max? My girls will sweep again this year, so they would enjoy seeing Hannah again.

Hello Lansings. The Ellis Family Christmas sure missed all of you. That darn old bug. Seems to be getting everyone this winter in some form or another. We had a great time and have decided that someone will be having a summer Ellis party this year. We have so many little ones that need to get to know one another. We met Jeff's fiance, Laura, and look forward to their new addition this summer--a girl!!! Laura is absolutely lovely and seems to bring Jeff out of his shell.
