Dear Jess, Julie, & Family,

God has His way of healing His people. He meets them where they are and takes them through it. He does not leave us to get through it alone. We know He is there WITH us through all the trials and tribulations. I praise God that He allowed you to have Lisa so she could impact so many lives for His glory. I cannot say that I understand what you are going through, but I do know that God is there every step of the way holding your hand as you walk through this journy called life. We are like the children of Israel when they were traveling through the desert to the Promised Land - this life is our desert and He is with us as He was with the children of Israel. Someday we all will meet in that Promised Land to forever praise and worship our Heavenly Father together for eternety.

I have been praying for your family. Jeff and I remembered that it has been two years - we talked about calling you, but still have not picked up the phone. We will never forget the blessing of knowing Lisa. I still wake up in the night and pray for you all sometimes. I know how it feels to lose someone you love to cancer (both my mom when I was 16, and my dad just a few years ago). Rather than focusing on all the emotions one experiences when they lose a loved one, I try to focus on and be thankful for the time God gave me with them, viewing it as a gift. Lisa's life was truly a gift to all those who knew her. She was an example for all of us of God's love. I love you all, and will continue to remember and pray for your family.

To Lisa's Family--I think of you often, as I have continued with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training. As you recall, Lisa launched me on this journey in August of 2006. Lisa touched many of us in ways that are truly amazing, as the ripple effect of a stone in a pond. Just know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh Julie, Jess, Renee, Taylor and all:

I cannot believe it has been a year. Sometimes it seems such a short time ago, sometimes it seems like forever. Through my tears I give you hugs, prayers, and beautiful memories that I have of sweet Lisa. I am so blessed to have known you all. Why the Lord chose to take Lisa home, I don't know. I just know that His will is perfect and ONE DAY we will understand and we will again see her beautiful face! As you know, she was such an encouragement to Scott and I -- and ALL the patients at The Hutch as she made her daily walks around and around that hallway! She has impacted people's lives more than you will ever know. I hope one day that can bring joy to Taylor.

Know that we think of you often, pray often and look forward to visiting with you. We will continue to hold you up to our Heavenly Father, especially on this one year anniversary. We love you, Cynthia Ward and Scott Regnerus and family

Dear Jess, Julie, & Family,

I know this has been a very hard year. I have read your last entry and am so thankful that you all have the precious memeories of Lisa. She will never be forgotten by family and friends. The last time I saw her, she was just a little girl at Berean Baptist Church. She loved life and she also loved Jesus. When you remember the special times you spent with her, it is a special praise to God for her life. Let the tears flow and let God bring you through this tough time. He is there carrying you through all this and He promised to NEVER leave you, nor forsake you. Through all the morning, there is that peace that God has given.

What a year it has been. I will never forget the look on Jordans face when we told him that Lisa was in heaven with Jesus. Tears flowed and I was amazed at how my sweet 6yr old boy who had never met Lisa was so impacted by her and her death. Those two had a bond. To this day when he prays he ALWAYS prays for Lisas' family and Taylor. Just know that we love you and are lifting your family up in prayer during this hard time. Bro. Grulle told my family when my Grandpa died that it is just a SHADOW of death. To know that she is in heaven is the best comfort we have on this earthly home. We love you and will continue to pray for you and your family.

Lisa's Family
I've been thinking of you and praying for you this week. I looked at Lisa's work at Scraps Galore yesterday (ABQ) and was reminded of her awesome talent and absolute sense of fun. She always had an encouraging word and a smile to share. I miss her also.
This past year has been dark for you all, but the year to come will be one of healing and restoration. Life will become a little bit easier and the pain will become a little easier. I picture Lisa dancing with her savior in complete health and delight.
I don't know how God will do it, but He promises that in heaven He will wipe away every tear--every one that you have cried over the past years. This is what I hold to and remember as I mourn the dear ones I have lost in the past few years. I, with you, look forward to the day when we will have our tears wiped away.

To some of the most beautiful people on earth,

Even though I did not know Lisa personally, I feel the blessing of her life. As I have begun to know you guys, I have learned a lot about the value of family, how precious time is, and the awesome power of our Savior's blood to re-unite all. It amazes me how loving, kind, accepting, and just plain Christian all of you are. You are an encouraging force in this world.

The poet, Sri Chinmoy, once said "our mind thinks of death, our heart thinks of life, our soul thinks of immortality". Please rest in the calm of knowing Lisa is happy today.

May God bless you abundandtly. May he pour his will into your lives. May he lead thousands to salvation by your influence on this world. May he wrap his arms around you and fill you with love. And, may he continue the work of Lisa through that beautiful, bright eyed little girl, Taylor.

To my 2nd Family...I love you all so very much. As this month has come, I have felt alot of sadness in my heart, as I know you have as well. I miss my dear friend SO MUCH! Scrapbooking will never be the same without my sweet Lisa to encourage and nudge me to start another layout at midnight while we talked on the phone!! I really miss our late night talks, scrapbooking...outdoing each other (In card making and scrappin') and keeping up on the latest trends of this industry.
From the first time I met Lisa, I knew we would be best friends. She let me know right off the bat that she was a Christian...which I loved...we often talked about religion and raising our family's in the Gospel.
She NEVER took life for granted....she lived each day to the fullest, and was always encouraging and knew how to make me smile!
She had the cutest way about her....like Julie, she always kept me in the latest trends with fashions and hair styles. She would say...get chunks in your hair Deb...you'll love em'! Her famous words for scrapbooking were..."just keep building"....and that we did, and were usually happy with the outcome.
Lisa taught me far more about raising kids then I ever did her! She was a great Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and the BEST friend ever.

I am so grateful to have shared SO MANY memories with Lisa, and grateful for the years we did have with her. She always considered her Family mine, and that meant so much to me!

I miss Albuquerque, and I will forever miss my Lisa friend, but look forward to the day when I will be with her again. I know she is healthy now, and longs to see us as well.
I am so grateful for scrapbooking which brought us two together!! I love you Rhodes Family!!

Lisa and family,
I know people aren't looking at this site much, but one day everyone will go back here as I've done. I know that you're in the hospital here in ABQ and things aren't looking too good. God is near to you, Lisa, as always. He's a Great God and sometimes we pray for things that aren't possible, but we don't know that at the time. Someone told me this week that sometimes we pray for a miracle for complete healing, not actually knowing or thinking that this miracle might be coming true in heaven! What a thought. To no longer have anymore pain and to be seated with our LORD; singing in the heavenly choir and knowing God as no one knows Him on earth. What an exciting time we have to look forward to. Thank you Lisa, and your loving family, for showing me (and others) just how to live our lives with hope and love for one another and with such faith! God Bless the Rhodes Family Always!
I love you guys with all my heart!

Merry Christmas and a healthy New Year! Jeff was here for Christmas, and we, too, went to Old Town early on Christmas Eve and walked around, enjoying the luminarias. Too bad we didn't run into y'all. Hey Lisa! Please know I care and think and pray for you often. I know what a weak immune system is like and what it is to go off those addictive narcotics. They added more to my regiment of Oxcycotin and I couldn't take it so I've spent the past few days coming off them, down to what I was on before, one every 12 hrs. I would love to see you, but know that with your body like it is, this isn't possible right now. You need to gain some strength and weight back, girl! You're getting too thin! Drink some Ensure or Boost! I'll pray that God will do His will for you. Love and think of you often!

When my mom and Stacey ran into you at the stampers convention last week they said you looked great. I am so greatful for that. Hi Lisa!
I heard from a little birdie that you aren't feeling too good (and I talked to you yesterday). Yes, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I will call you tomorrow and ask you if you got that St. Johns Wort I recommended for your dulldrums and the Vitamin C if the doctor OK's them. I know that you will get better. It will take time and patience. "Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace." He allows trials to come to us so that we will turn to Him. I guess I am done preaching, but you know I have had my share of trials so I have lived it. We love you.......Eva and Wayne

Hope your holidays went well. Happy New Year!!!

I am so glad to hear that your mouth is getting better. Praise be to God!!! He is faithful!
I can't remmber if I told you but I am pregnant. Going on 6 months. Can't believe that, it has gone by so fast. It is a girl and we have decided to name her Maegann. My daughter is thrilled she is getting a sister. We both know how great sisters are and how God can use them to bless our lives!
I also wanted to ask you what kind of scrapping supplies you use? My Mother in Law is a Creative Memories consultant and she asked what you do?
Well, stay strong, be encouraged, keep the faith. Remember God is able. Have a blessed day and I'll write soon.

Dear Sweet Lisa, I was just looking through some old photos and found those I took the last time we had a scrappin' sleepover at Shelley's house. Remember that night? You worked on those two awesome pages I think it was, all night long??? I'm sure you would've gotten more done if I hadn't been sitting beside you asking for your expert advice every five minutes. That was a wonderful night, I've learned so much from you when it comes to scrapbooking. Thanks for all your help Lisa!!! Hello Lisa,

I find myself thinking of you so often. I'm sorry you have mouth sores--they are miserable. Last spring after several rounds of chemo, I had a terrible case of them. A friend called and I told her what was going on so she quickly prayed for me and then we said good-bye. About 10 minutes later, I noticed that my mouth felt better, and in another few minutes, the mouth sores were completely gone! God hears our prayers!

So, in that spirit, I pray that our faithful, all-powerful Lord will touch your mouth with his healing touch. And that out of your joy you will glorify his name.

Blessings and prayers.

Hi Lisa,

Glad to hear you are back home. You look really great! I know that you still feel tired or fatiged but this one thing I know and that is that the joy of the Lord is your strength. Try to spend time with Him everyday reading the Bible. It is there that you will find your strength, it is there that you will find peace and comfort. I am glad that Taylor is adjusting to her new environment. That is a blessing. Things in my neck of the woods are fine. My daughter started kindergarten on Tueseday. That has been a huge adjustment for me!
Well, God has you in the palm of His hand draw upon Him for your strength. He will see you through this!!
Have a blessed day!

Hi Lisa,
It was such a pleasure to hear from you on my Caringbridge web site. I'm so thrilled that you are doing as well as you are--sounds like all is going well. I know there are always concerns: "Do I have too much GvH?" "Do I have ENOUGH GvH?" I have the same concerns, and it takes a conscious decision to remind myself that the Lord wants me to roll all those anxieties onto His shoulders. I very much look forward to meeting you when we get home--we already have a bond--kind of like soldiers who have gone to war. We are thinking it will be early September if all continues well.

Enjoy being home,

Continued blessings and prayers,

Laura

Hi Lisa,

I was thinking about you today--so glad your biopsy results are looking excellent. I want to share with you a verse that my daughter-in-law, Cara Sowers, gave me before we made our journey to City of Hope. I think it will speak to your heart:

"I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness. I will build you up and and you will be rebuilt..." Jer. 31:-3-4

The Lord is rebuilding you (and me) from the depths of your marrow. He is faithful, loving and kind. He will care for you in other ways as well.

Love and healing prayers,

Laura

Hi Lisa,
Just a quick note to tell you I'm thinking of you and am praying for the results to come back with good news. Remember to praise God everyday for your complete healing because I truly believe the answers that we seek come to us as we praise His Holy Precious Magnificiant Name!!!!!

Thank You Lord for being Lisa's tower today, give her strength spiritually, menatally, physically, and emotionally. Help her to make right decisions concerning her health and her personal life. Be with Talor and her dad Jesse. Give them the strength and the peace that passes all understanding that everything is well Lisa. Give Lisa that same peace to know that Your hand is upon her every step of the way and that You are always with her. I thank you Lord that the results come back clear and that Lisa will be able to go home to be with her family. I give you praise for her complete recovery, a supernatural recovery, a God Kind of recovery! You are an awesome God and I am so greatful for Your mercy and lovingkindness that You have shown forth to Lisa. Thank you Lord for all these things and I ask them in Your Precious Mighty Name, Amen!

Love you girl, you have a great day and I'll check in again soon. Waiting to hear the good news!!!!

Dear Lisa,

Hello from Laura Sowers at City of Hope in CA. Renee let me know that you were going through the BMT process, and I have been praying for you. Day 73! I'm envious--I'm on day on 51--just a hair over halfway. I'm so glad you're doing well and I'm praying for excellent test results for you (I get BMB results today!). I thank God that we have had the benefit of this medical knowledge. It's been humbling in almost every way, especially seeing how God cares for us when we are unable to bring ANYTHING to the table. He is good. Blessings and healing to you, Lisa.

Dear Lisa, I just got my computer back on line and was pleased to read all the e-mails from your mom. Praise the Lord your doing so well. To God be all the glory. I think about you all the time. You sound better with every day.I was woundering if you felt up to talking with a new patient of mine named Melinda Carbonniere. She was just diagnosed with AML 3 weeks ago and has finished her first induction chemo and is in remission on the first bone marrow bx. She happens to be in the same room you were in,401. I've been telling her all about you and she seems very encouraged. Her counts are coming back slowly and is full of questions and concerns. I thought if you talked with her,she may feel better knowing some one who has gone through what she's going through. She's a very sweet woman just like you. I'd love to come visit when you think the time is right. You can email or call me at (253) 846-0829 any time. Love Melinda

Hi my dear friend:

I am so thankful to our Heavenly Father for allowing our paths to cross here on this earth. I love you and your wonderful family. You have been such an encouragement to us and such a role model for Scott. If this is a disease that the two of you had to endure, I am glad that you could eradicate it at the same place, at the same time, and believing in the same God. We will be watching and praying on a daily basis for your energy and "life" to return to normal. Know that our Heavenly Father holds you in the palm of His hand (and Taylor)and has WONDERFUL plans for you in the future!! I can't wait to see them! Much love, Cynthia Ward

Lisa, I am so glad to hear all the good news about how well you are doing. Just remember to keep God as your rock through this whole thing and you will make it through just fine. I know you have up times and down times, but God is taking care of you and will help you through each step of the way like He did for me. I depended on Him 100% and that is why I made it through so well. I see Him working on you every day. Your young and strong. Remember that! I will miss you since I am now in Missouri, but will keep in touch. Once you get home we can email and write and the Taylor's can also. Love ya and you are in my prayers.

Caring Bridge is such a wonderful site. We have another friend, Laura Sowers, who is keeping us up to date on here as well. What a wonderful ministry. Gayle, thanks for all you do to keep us informed. Lisa, I continue to pray for you as you go through this journey. God has truly been glorified by you and your family as you face this trial and by his answers to your prayers. We look forward to day 100 when you can hopefully return home.
