Welcome to Ty's website. Please sign the guestbook and let us know you stopped by!
Welcome to Ty's webpage. We've developed this page to keep friends and family informed about Ty's battle with Renal Cell Carcinoma (kidney cancer). Ty was diagnosed in December of 2003. He had his right kidney removed. He goes to his oncologist every three months for checkups. As of right now, surgery is the only treatment for RCC, so Ty is considered cured.

Tuesday, March 31, 2009 9:42 PM CDT Just wanted to post a short message for those who still come by to visit. I think often about closing out this account. It took me a good 15 minutes just to log in tonight as Caringbridge has switched to a different format. They suggest we create a new page with the new format...I started to do that, and then I just thought "delete the page, he is well". But there is something that just won't allow me to hit that "DELETE ACCOUNT" button. You would think after watching your child have cancer (even though we were really lucky by dodging the bullet of chemo) you would want to just get rid of anything that reminds you of that time. But that is really not at all how I feel. There are so many blessings that came from Ty's diagnosis that I tend to want to hold on to some of that, particularly if this page keeps us connected to some wonderful people we met throughout his ordeal. So I will keep it, until one day I feel at peace about getting rid of it.
Ty was able to go to a football camp on Sunday that was hosted by Quan Cosby. Ty had a great time and Mr. Cosby is a class act! He came by Robinson on Monday and spoke to the male athletes about good choices, respect, the importance of and education and the joys and pitfalls of college athletics! Brian was really impressed! Ty was thrilled to have his picture taken with Quan and to get an autograph on a football!
I hope you are enjoying your spring. I'm ready for the winds to die down and the sun to stay out. I'm a warm weather girl!
As always, if you are still coming by, we appreciate it. Let us know you were here!
Blessings... Gayle and the gang
