Hi Sam, Tami and Jon--what an amazing family you all are. You all experience the pain that Sam goes through and some how (THROUGH PRAYERS AND FAITH) you all come through with strength and positive attitudes. Sam, we hurt for all the pain you go through each time we read about some sort of set back you have. Yet you emerge and are the happy little darling anyone can ever imagine. The pictures of you are so gratifying after hearing of your pain this past week. Sweetheart you are amazingly strong willed without knowing it at your young age. All I can say is God must have great plans for Sam as He continues to walk alongside him throughout this entire ordeal! What a testimony he will have! More feelings than words came up in first looking at the photos. There was shock, kind of a gripping of stomach, tensing of shoulders as I took in the big picture; his passive expression of face and hands contrasted sharply to the long gash and splotches of orange gel. The second sleeping position looked angelic; the third almost an angelic trance-like pose of acceptance. Tears welled, my throat constricted. What a beautiful boy. My mind searches for words of encouragement, but the photos overwhelm. I am humbled by the images, by the arduous journey of this brave boy.

I just found out about your blog. My husband is involved in SVDP with Tami. It is remarkable that she has been able to put in so much time for the organization. Want everyone to know that I just spoke with a very nice lady,Terese Hardman, in Family Services from the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, where grandma Rosemary worked, who knows her and I was telling her all about you. She is adding you to their prayer chain for special prayers for you to get all better. I was so touched with speaking with her as she has a niece who was diagnosed with cancer at age 10 and is now 21 and doing beautifully. How encouraging is that!!!

Love U bunches. Hope to get to C U while you're all here. Let's make a special effort. I know Auntie Anne would just love to see you. Maybe we could somehow get you to Mount Alverna for a little quickie visit.
